Diversity, Inclusion And Bias: A Program for Labor, Management and Neutrals

In recent years, corporations and other workplaces have increased their commitment to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (“DEI”) in the workplace.  These initiatives are often overseen by designated DEI officers.  The New Jersey Supreme Court MCLE Board recognized the need for attorneys to further their education in DEI starting on January 1, 2021 wherein additional ethics requirements were set down for DEI education.  This program, which has been submitted to the CLE Board pending approval for DEI credits, includes an important discussion regarding critical DEI concepts such as implicit and explicit bias.  The program also provides an overview of federal, state and organizational initiatives, DEI training tips, and the important role that neutrals (e.g., arbitrators, mediators and others) must ensure equal access and administrative justice for all.
